LA PLAZA: NUESTRA CULTURA CURA

La Plaza is a Latine-led movement rooted in the belief that Nuestra Cultura Cura—our culture heals.

OUR MISSION & VISION

We provide culturally rooted case management, resource navigation, and community-based healing programs for Latine and immigrant families in Sonoma County.

We create spaces where our communities feel safe, valued, and connected—because healing does not happen in isolation, it happens in community.

At La Plaza, we don’t just help people access services—we support them in building meaningful relationships, reconnecting to culture, and strengthening their sense of belonging.

Our Approach

Our work is:

  • Culturally rooted – grounded in identity, language, and tradition

  • Community-driven – shaped by those we serve

  • Trauma-informed – recognizing the impact of stress, migration, and systemic barriers

  • Strength-based – honoring resilience and lived experience

  • Relational – centered in trust, connection, and belonging

  • Building Systems Change - through close cross-sector partnerships and training offered to other community based organizations, local leaders and agencies.

We practice cultural humility, recognizing that community members are the experts of their own experiences.

Who We Serve

We center communities most often excluded from traditional systems, including:

  • Latine families

  • Immigrant and mixed-status households

  • Undocumented community members

  • BIPOC and LGBTQ+ individuals

  • Low-income families

  • Families with young children and those in the perinatal stage
